Page Peel Ads – Discontinued

Posted by kexbrown on July 22, 2009

We have decided to discontinue our Page Peel Ads program. Please remove them from your blogs as soon as possible.

After about 4 months of offering the ads, we have determined there is no real interest in the ads from an advertiser’s view. Many publishers have accepted them and use them on their blogs, but the cost of delivering the ads to the publishers is prohibitive compared to the revenue generated.

What Should I Do?

If you are currently showing page peel ads on your blog you should remove the code from your blog. We will continue to deliver the ads for the next 30 days, but you will not be receiving page view points or ad view points on your blogs that display those ads.

We are sorry for the extra work this will entail, but we think it is the right thing to do at this time.

Think this is probably for the best I honestly dont think it is worth it for the page peel ads.

I think the real market for advertising is still in the current Adgitize ads.

    Thanks,
    LM-BLOG

@LM – Well the current Adgitize Marketplace agrees with you! :)

That’s good, it was a little too complicated for me anyhow.

I think that, at this point in time, the market is not yet ready for the page peel ads. I tried putting it in my blog for a month to support it, but I’ve observed nobody was clicking on it. So, it might be good only for the view. And for one month that it stayed in my blog, I’ve also observed that it had the same advertiser.

I think you’ve made a good decision with that. I find them a bit irritating, personally :)

I definitely support this. I had the page peels adblocked, because they were so annoying. Kind of in the vein of pop-ups, being triggered accidentally whenever my mouse wandered to the corner of the screen. I bet other people have had them blocked too, and an Adblocked ad doesn’t do any good for the advertiser! ;)

Oh, yeah I never really noticed anyone using it. Or maybe I have blocked that by accident? Hehe…
