Adgitize Gaining Market Share in Blog Advertising
Posted by kexbrown on September 9, 2009
Over the summer Adgitize experienced Explosive growth. Cornyman in a recent forum posted the following and I quote, “Since I joined in April, you doubled now the memberships, tripled the Ads shown from 13 Million to 39 Million and tripled also the Advertisers from 55 to now 170!
Adgitize Shows Expansion in All Areas
Adgitize has shown expansion in all areas of the business and we are very excited for the future. When I started Adgitize in November 2008, I targeted two advertising services as my competitors, Ad Toll and Project Wonderful. I had used both of these services in the past and felt that I could compete with them in this marketplace.
If you use Alexa and Compete as broad indicators of the market you will see that Adgitize has moved swiftly toward overtaking it’s competitors. When we started 10 months ago we had a dream that bloggers would have an opportunity to grow their blog and earn a few dollars each month and maximize traffic. I think we have served that need in the marketplace.
AdToll serves up advertising on a cost per click basis and has a wide base of publishers. Project Wonderful has successfully created a blog marketplace for advertisers and publishers. If you examine the following images you will see that Adgitize is moving into their market. I don’t know if Adgitize is serving the same advertisers as AdToll but I know we share common advertisers and publishers with Project Wonderful.

The three Month Daily Traffic Rank Trend from Alexa shows Adgitize moving steadily toward overtaking a falling Adtoll. Project Wonderful has stayed steady which leads me to believe we can share the same marketplace without cannibalizing each other. The blue line is Adgitize and you can see that we are fluctuating everyday but we are staying longer at a rank of 20,000 each week than the week before.
Adgitize’s Compete Scores
Reviewing the Compete scores you can see that Adgitize’s Compete scores are a steadfast march upwards. Again Adgitize is in the blue. Now these scores can best be used as only a thin indicator of progress. Neither Alexa nor Compete is representative of all the traffic a web site receives and can best be used as broad indicators only. Both of our competitors could have 10 times the traffic as Adgitize and not be shown in these reports.

But with the other numbers we are generating and succinctly reported by Cornyman, you can see that Adgitize is moving up in marketshare and scope of the business. We want to thank each of you for your part in putting us where we are today.
Thank You Adgitize Members
We could have easily done mass marketing and pulled in hundreds if not thousands of new members in a brief period. But, we chose to start slow and small and let you the members bring in other members. The benefit to you of course is affiliate earnings each month. We are literally where we are today based solely on your belief in Adgitize and your action to grow the Adgitize Market. And we the Adgitize Team thank you!

We thank you too for serving our needs in increasing our blog traffic and income. You have always given us excellent technical and customer service, and that makes me stick with you. I hope Adgitize will continue to grow because you’re helping us gain exposure in the blogosphere.I get an average of 300 page views daily from Adgitize, something that I couldn’t have possibly achieved without your system.More power!

I think Project Wonderful, though it’s on a lot of blogs, tends to have the webcomic community as their main demographic. (Not sure if this was intended or just how it worked out) and is mainly used by bloggers because it’s easy and free.
However, unless a blog has quite a bit of traffic, it won’t earn a great deal.
Whilst I’m at it, can I just say, from experience, that if you wish to get more ads on PWonderful, I recommend not having a minimum cost. Not many people are going to pay 10cents daily for a blog that gets 50hits a day.
Unlike Adgitise, there’s no incentive to click PW ads, and the system is quite different, so I wouldn’t really classify them as direct competitors.
IF EC managed to actually get its act together and create a decent business model, that would be more of a threat to Adgitise than anything else I believe.
However, I don’t think you need worry too much about that happening anytime soon! lol
Keep up the good work Ken. Adgitise works really well for me.

Adgitize not Adgitise. Sorry! Me English not good.

I agree that AdToll’s model is closer to the Adgitize Model than Project Wonderful. I compare them more because I used to utilize them than because of their direct competition. We do all have the same market base we just implement our plan differently!
Thanks for the kind words.

Congratulations! And well done for providing a service which is obviously in demand. We have only been with you for 3 months, and even in that short time the growth has been phenomenal. Good for you.

Ken … this is one of the best networks that I have ever been a part … and my experience goes back to some of the very first “banner exchanges” from 1995 /6.
I must have joined about the same time as Cornyman because those numbers look very familiar to me. I remember not having enough advertisers to click. :-0
Keep up the excellent work !
And here is to another doubling or tripling of growth !

Congrats Adgi on the immense success we’ve all seen and enjoyed over the last few months especially. I started with PW before Adgi came along and though I am using both programs now, I have to say Adgi seems to be the more profitable venture, keep up the excellent work! :):):)

I have been with Adgitize from the very beginning and I’m happy on how it has evolved to its present status. I have used PW alongside Adgitize but if you will visit my site, I have already torn down my PW ad boxes and just kept Adgitize. It really amazes me to see the trending and I guess Ken should put up another contest (just in time for the first anniversary) on when will Adgitize reach its 50 million ad views mark.

Ken- And you have achieved your success with integrity and a business plan! I use PW, but there are things about it that make me nuts. Your site is straightforward and easy to use. I don’t even know about AdToll… I guess that’s how often I have seen any ads run through them. Now if I could just figure out how to break into the ranks of those who get 600 points a day! (I made 400 the past couple )

Hi Ken,
thanks for mentioning me in your article!
I think your marketing strategy in combination with the Fireworks Contest during August and the introduction of points/discounts for 2nd, 3rd and 4th ads has been established at the right time.
The preferred publisher program will help you, too, in getting more satisfied members as it drives traffic, too. Especially the coup with the free option is very useful as all members can try and show the results in their blogs!
With the introduction of the Marketplace in some weeks the connection between the members will be strengthen which will open more interactions within the community! As we can earn additional points for this interaction, you will see further growth coming!
Wow, what amazing times are waiting for us until the end of 2009!

OMG! when the world knows about Adgitize, you will not have enuf servers to handle the load. You have a stellar organization and I am proud to be part of it. Great Job!

Hey there Ken,
I too have experienced a surge in hits and readers since joining Adgitize. It’s great to see that an up and coming organization is doing so well and I’m glad that I have a small part in it. Keep it up!

Adgitize is a timely, good-intentioned and well-thought advertising platform for blogs. At the moment, it’s the best for us bloggers. We get the traffic we need and get back our advertising fee for doing something that we bloggers should really do, visit blogs of others.

Well after an argument with ProjectWonderful I’ve come over to Adgitize. So far it’s allowed me to do what PW wouldn’t.
Though I do have a new “word” to add to my dictionary now…..
