True Cost of Advertising on Adgitize
Posted by kexbrown on November 21, 2009
What is the true cost of advertising on the Adgitize Ad Network? I wanted some answers to that question. So, I did what I hope is a statistically significant test. I went to the database and chose all active advertisers that were currently running one (125 X 125 px) ad on the Adgitize Ad Network.
From that list I then randomly selected 13 active advertisers. Then I let the database take the average number of click throughs per day for these 13 advertisers for the last 10 days. I came up with each advertiser is receiving 77 clicks per day to their site from their blog ad on the Adgitize Ad Network.
To be Honest, I Was Surprised
To be honest, I was surprised. I didn’t think it would be that high. What does this mean to an advertiser? Ok, each monthly ad you purchase from Adgitize runs for 31 days throughout our network. Multiplying 77 ad clicks per day times 31 days equals your ad will be clicked on average 2,387 times per month. Remember, this is your ad being shown on a blog in our network and someone clicking the ad to arrive at your blog. This is 2,387 visitors to your blog each and every month.
Cost Per Click – 1 Penny
Cost per click is exactly 1 USD penny or 24 divided by 2387 = 0.01005. A penny per click. Try getting that on Google AdSense. These aren’t college kids earning drinking money; these are bloggers just like you wanting to know more about your life, ideas and opinions.
Numbers Get Better
But the numbers get better. Because if you are an active publisher scoring over 199 points per day and advertising then you are getting money from Adgitize that will help you pay for your ads. I went with an average earnings of 20 cents for the 200 to 300 point tier. If you do the math it is a rebate of $6.20 per month or a monthly ad cost of only $17.80. You get the same 2,387 click throughs each month and your cost per click comes down to $0.007 per click. An excellent price for ads on the Adgitize Ad Network.
Going one step further let’s see how the 300 plus tier numbers look. Active publishers will earn a minimum of 50 cents a day from Adgitize. (Even more under the new rates.) Multiply 50 cents per day times 31 days gives you $15.50 per month. Substract that figure from a monthly ad rate of $24 and you get a per click rate of ONLY $0.0035. That is an amazing number.
Earn More Than Ad Costs
And some people will earn more as a publisher than it costs to place an ad – in effect Adgitize PAYS YOU to advertise on our network. WOW.
Affiliates Earn Even More
Are our rates right for you? I don’t know. That is for you to decide. But, at a penny a click to your blog, why don’t you try it? Be a publisher and earn some of the ad cost back. Plus, as an affiliate you can earn even more driving the cost per click even lower.
Remember these are averages and may not accurately reflect your actual results. To get an average of 77 you might have one ad at 97 and another ad at 57. We make no guarantee of the number of actual clicks you will receive on any given day. It is a function of your ad, where it is shown, on whose blog it is shown and possibly the content of your blog.
300 Points Paying 51 Cents a Day
As a note to current members. I have purposely chosen lower numbers for earnings rates and have not shown the new higher rates because the earnings haven’t gotten to that point yet. They will be getting higher and higher as the month wears on. I noticed today that 300 points was paying 51 cents. In October, 300 points paid as little as 40 cents a day. So, the earnings are rising.

A few random comments:
77 clicks per day is right in the range that I typically get from Adgitize to my blog, so those numbers sound reasonable.
I typically earn over 400 points her day and for most periods, that has meant I’ve made a profit on my ads. This month looks like I won’t break even, due to the transition, but it does seem like that is normalizing as well. However, the earnings are finally rising this month, so I expect things to be back on course soon.

That’s an excellent calculation and absolute correct!
As active publisher i could score under the old ad price around 20$/month (i had 440-470 points on average).
Advertising in Adgitize paid me every single month since July 6 $ + an amazing amount of visitors (over 13.500 since June 2009).
This month i will be around 1 $ shy of 24$. Next month there can be again a profitable month for every active publisher who buys a 24 $ ad as there are no more old 14$ in the system!
As more and more advertiser ads drop in the last days out of the system the clicks for the remaining advertisers are RISING!
This means many advertisers get MORE page/ad views points. The ad is more valuable and you can score higher earnings in the next days as the previous advertisers score now 25 – 180 points less (advertiser points + 50% less ad/page view points).
From my observations:
- Advertiser dropped since 31st October by 39 from 216 to 177
- since the last three days earnings higher than in the first week of November even when i achieved now 50 points less
This means for me:
In the next few days the 80 cents (which would pay you a 24$ ad within 30 days) should be achievable for the members who reach 450+ points and from December on for the members with 400 points
Then it would be like in the past… you get COMPLETELY PAID for ONE ADGITIZE ADS when you
-advertise for 31 days (24$)
-publish daily one article,
-click daily 51 ads(100 ads for publisher),
- look for good content which can be found by search engines
- comment on other blogs
- promote your blog for additional traffic with the services which you can find here in the poll on the sidebar

Aside from the Adgitize, I also advertise in PW and CMF Ads, where I have advertiser only account.
Cost-effective wise, advertising in the Adgitize is cheaper than the other ad networks that I’ve mentioned.
In addition, at the previous $ 14.00 a month budget that I spent each for the three ad firms, only Adgitize has been giving me more visitors and traffic daily.
That’s based on my personal experience and I have empirical data to support my claim over a 4-months period, from the months of June to September 2009.

It’s true about what ken said, I really agree for the advertiser plus plan. The advertiser who also have some time to do the click and post one content in each day may reach the word of “Adgitize Pay You to Advertise” according to my calculation.
I still stick on my decision that my earning will be for advertising cost in Adgitize with the reason that I really need the traffic.
Always the best for Adgitize…!!!

Anent my previous comment on the comparative performance of my ad on the 3 ad firms, here’s the recent statistics culled from my respective dashboard at the 3 ad firms, for the month of October 2009.
The data are based solely on my personal experience as advertiser and does not aim to criticize the following ad firms, but just to present my own experience:
Ad Firms Amount Spent No. of clicks
(October 2009) (in One month)
Project Wonderful $ 15.00 305
placed on 26
PW publishers’
blogs, bidding from
$ 0.01 – $ 0.10/day
CMF Ads $ 15.00 227
placed on 45 blogs
with ad prices ranging
from $ 0.05 to
$ 1.25 for a 1 month ad
Adgitize $ 14.00 1,881
31 day ad across
the Adgitize network

Not to forget to mention that you get one month later a cash rebate from Adgitize which minimized your advertising costs for October to nearly 0$

I get almost no traffic from CMF or PW- I consider them visibility/ brand recognition. I know that the Adg traffic may not stick, but with the incentive to at least click and look there is a better chance that I will gain actual readers. Adgitize is actually worth paying money for.

@ Cornyman, thanks for bringing that cash rebate in your comment. Yes, I got a cash rebate of $ 17.62 for the month of October from Adgitize.
So, aside from generating a total of 1,881 visitors from Adgitize referrals for the month of October 2009, I also earned $ 17.62 at the same time.
It’s as if Adgitize paid me $ 3.62 for sending 1,881 visitors to my blog, the amount being my profit, after deducting $ 14.00 for a 31-day ad.

Nice breakdown. Good comments from people about the other potential earning possibilities out there with ads programs such as Project Wonderful and CMF.

I’m still giving Entrecard’s $25 ’sponsored ads’ thing a go. Apart from the fact it doesn’t seem to work as advertised (category issue), it does bring in a reasonable amount of traffic if you advertise across the network.
HOWEVER, if I had continued advertising like that, then the $25 would have lasted approx 3 days!! For one USD less, (not even thinking about the rebates/earnings) Adgitize brings in nearly as much traffic daily for ten times as long!
Can’t argue with the figures.
Adgitize is the way to go!

I can now compare Entrecard’s $ 25.00 sponsor ads with Adgitize $ 24 / 31 day ad. I became a sponsor of EC and just finished my ad campaign today, November 27, 2009.
After 4.5 days of running my campaign in all blog categories in the EC network, my $ 25.00 has completely gone with the wind.
My advertiser’s stats as reported in the EC dashboard:
Impressions 41,776
Clicks 577
CTR 0.0138
CPM $ 0.5984
CPC $ 0.0433
Therefore, I conclude that EC sponsor ads is very expensive. Its cost per click (CPC) at $ 0.0433 is 4x expensive than that of Adgitize’s $ 0.01005.
My $ 24 ad in Adgitize runs for 31 days while my $ 25.00 in Entrecard lasted only for 4.5 days.
In addition, in Adgitize I got a total of 1,881 clicks for 31 days (October 2009 data) while in Entrecard my $ 25.00 has given me only 577 clicks.
So, in terms of cheap but effective network advertising for bloggers, Adgitize is NOT the way, it is the ONLY way.
