Publishers – How to Reject an Ad for Your Blog
Posted by kexbrown on January 14, 2010
This is just a reminder for new publishers to Adgitize or to publishers that may not remember how to reject an ad. Early on at Adgitize we learned that not all publishers are interested in having all ads running on the network to show up on their blog.
Some ads may be from your competitors, ads that you don’t feel work with your blog color scheme, ads that are too sexy or provocative or ads you consider offensive. We have a way for you to ensure that these ads don’t run on your blog. Remember it is your blog not Adgitize’s. You decide on content and ad content.
So, if you don’t want an ad to show on your blog then follow these steps.
Click on the Manage Blogs button. Choose the Reject Ads Button which will take you to the reject ads page. Once there you can peruse all the images of ads currently running on your blog. If you find one you don’t want to show on your blog then click the check box.
Continue until you are satisfied that you have checked all that you don’t want to show then go to the top of the page and click on the “Reject Checked Ads” button. This will update the database and the checked blogs will not be shown on your blog in the Adgitize Ad Group.
You can go back to this page and see which ads you have rejected and reject more or un-reject ads if you want. As always you are in total control of what is on your blog.

This is one of the features that I like in Adgitize. Even if there are now more than 190 advertisers, yet publishers have the ability to reject ads which they may find offensive or not to their liking, or do not fit well with their blogs’ niche.
This Adgitize feature is superb compared to the other ad network (Entrecard) whom a user has to pay $ 5.00 a month (like what I’m doing) just to ensure that no sponsor ads run on his/her widget. This happens because a user could not just reject all ads of the sponsors (advertisers).
Well, not all ad networks are created equal, but I’m happy to be a member of Adgitize whose owner/Admin recognizes the fact that a site belongs to its owner and not to an ad network, and which Entrecard owner has still to learn.

I love this feature. I keep forgetting it is there, though! Thanks for the reminder.

Is there a feature that allows us to see if our ad has been rejected and by who?

@JT – Great question and the answer is no. We have 10,000 publishers and it probably doesn’t matter much if a couple of them don’t show our ad on their blog.

I like this feature as well but would like to see it modified to where ads have to be approved before they can run on your blog. I check daily if possible for new ads because there are some I don’t want running on my family friendly blogs. A couple of days ago I wasn’t feeling well so it was into the afternoon before I checked to find a couple of ads that there is no way I would want them on my blogs. I’d rather that ads don’t run until they have been approved first.

Hi, sorry for typing this irrelevant comment at the blog. I was trying to reach the homepage of the site but I wasn’t able to get in. I am using Firefox and when I tried to reach the member’s login page, I just see an error saying something like the connection was reset. I would like to know if there is anything wrong with the server or with the main page? Anyone else having the same problem?

BK, no worries about the comment, I understand you being concerned. The entire Adgitize.com site has been down all day. We are hoping tomorrow the servers will be back up. I’ll be posting at our forum http://www.adgitize.net/blog/forum/ with any updates.

I see, thank you for the reply. I couldn’t reach the team from the contact page and that was why I tried the comment. Thank you.
