An Open Question To Adgitize Members

Posted by kexbrown on November 14, 2009

The price changes have brought out some comments by members, both for and against. Well, I wouldn’t say that anyone is actually for the price increases. Anyway, 3 comments that I have received in the last week have sparked discussion here at Adgitize. I need our members to help us decide one way or another.

Here is the discussion on the table. There are many members in Adgitize, over 4,000 at last count. All the members have different reasons to be members. Some are just publishers, some are just advertisers and some are publisher/advertisers.

Now, most of the active publisher/advertisers were generally okay with the price increase because they will advertise and get most if not all of their advertising dollars returned to them. But, members who were only advertisers see the high price hike as killing their ability to advertise to our members at what they feel is a reasonable cost to for our traffic.

A New Price Proposal

The proposal on the table here at the Adgitize Offices is whether we should provide a discount to members that fall into the category of Advertiser ONLY. These members usually aren’t displaying the Adgitize Ad Groups on their blogs and aren’t receiving any rebates on their advertising. Many of them don’t have time to click on ads and aren’t interested in being on the top of the leaderboard. Their only goal is to get branding for their blog and some traffic from the Adgitize Membership.

Here is the question. As a publisher/advertiser, would you be upset if you paid $24 a month for your ads and another member only paid $18 a month?

Advertiser Only

Before you make your decision read this. We would create a new ad category called Advertiser Only.

  • This member would receive NO advertiser points (100 points).
  • They would receive no doubling of the ad views and page views points that is normally a part of the advertiser bonus (10 to 100 points per day).
  • If they decide to click on ads they would have to actually click 100 ads to receive 100 click points for the day and would not receive the doubling of the click points that is normally a part of the advertiser bonus (50 points).
  • They would NOT be able to have a Regular Ad and an Advertiser Only ad at the same time. Once the member chooses an Advertiser Only ad then all of their ads fall under the rules of the Advertiser only designation.

Having an Advertiser Only designation would take many points out of the Adgitize system which should help publishers earn more money. An Advertiser Only member would be able to be a publisher they just wouldn’t get as much earnings back as before because they would lose the Advertiser bonus.

Advertiser Plus

We would probably call the Regular Advertiser the Advertiser Plus because then the advertiser is receiving additional benefits by being an active publisher/advertiser.

Having a system like this would encourage more advertisers to be a part of Adgitize as they would be receiving a 25% discount. This should drive more revenue into the Adgitize Network which would be passed to the publishers in the same methodology as today.

What Do You Think?

So, what do you think? Is this a good idea? Have we missed some fatal flaw in the concept that will sink the whole organization? If we did it today would you choose the Advertiser Only choice or the Advertiser Plus? Do you think this will change the organization to the point that all advertisers will actually choose the Advertiser Only designation?

We will be making our decision November 20th (maybe sooner) so please let us know as soon as possible your thoughts.

Adgitize Preferred Publishers List Gives Publishers More Exposure

Posted by kexbrown on September 2, 2009

Adgitize is introducing the Preferred Publishers List. This list will highlight our publishers who are showing the Adgitize Ad Group in a preferred location on their blog.

Who is Eligible for the Preferred Publisher Program?

All publishers are eligible for the program, but there are a couple of things you need to do to qualify for the program. You must show an Adgitize Ad Group no less than one scroll bar click below the fold. This is based on a screen resolution of 1024 X 768 px. Why do we require this rule? Our advertisers would like the best visibility possible to their ads. As a preferred publisher you are guaranteeing our advertisers preferred positioning on your blog. We expect the landing page of a preferred publisher to be a blog page. It cannot be a sales page. It cannot be a page of links. It must be a page with content. And finally the landing page should be fast loading.

Rules to Be A Preferred Publisher

  • At Least One Adgitize Ad Group Must be Above the Fold or one Scroll Bar Click below the Fold
  • Fast Loading Page
  • Landing Page Must be a Blog Page

Why Should I Want My Blog to be a Preferred Publisher?

The preferred publishers will be shown in two places on the Adgitize site. Your blog will have a link on the Preferred Publisher List shown next to the Community Button. Any visitor to Adgitize will have an opportunity to see who our publishers are. You will get traffic from random visitors checking out the Adgitize Opportunity.

You will also see your publisher link in the Blogs Not Clicked Today list in the Member’s Lounge. The Preferred Publishers List will be replacing the Blogs Not Clicked list so members clicking Adgitize Ads will be using this “Preferred List” of fast loading above the fold Adgitize Ad groups.

Is There a Fee for this Program?

There are two options. You can pay a monthly fee or you can utilize the FREE Option. How do you qualify for the FREE option? It is actually very easy. All you have to do is for any 4 day period score 300 Adgitize Ad Click points. Then you can see your blog in the Preferred Publisher List.

Am I automatically in the Preferred Publisher list with the FREE option? NO. You must sign up for the free option.

If you don’t have time to click on Adgitize Advertiser Ads then you can qualify for the Preferred Publisher list by paying a small monthly fee. There are 3 payment options, monthly, quarterly or a monthly subscription option.

Are Adgitize Points Awarded?

You can earn additional Adgitize Advertiser points by being an Adgitize Preferred Publisher. If you choose the Free Option Preferred Publisher then you will score an additional 10 points a day each day you qualify for the FREE option. Paid preferred publishers can earn an additional 25 points a day.

You can only have 1 FREE preferred publisher in this program per member. You may have multiple blogs in the list for paid Preferred Publishers. Why not add a link for each of your blogs in Adgitize?

How Do I Sign Up for the Preferred Publishers List?

Go to the Manage Blogs section of the Members Lounge. Then if you want to create a new Preferred Publisher then choose “Add Preferred Publisher” for one of your blogs. Then follow the simple instructions.

This is a great opportunity for publishers to get exposure in the Adgitize Network.

Important Changes to Adgitize Points System

Posted by kexbrown on August 12, 2009

Over the next two months we are implementing some changes that will require us to bump up the points system to 600 points. We have 3 new programs coming on board and it will increase the number of points a member may receive.

Many Publishers Are Happy

As many of you realize the whole system of publishers and advertisers is incumbent upon the system to have a revenue stream. I know many publishers are happy with the extra amount of money they receive from Adgitize, but I know many of you would like more.

Our executive team has approved 3 new programs that will all come on line in the next 60 days. The first program is being implemented tonight and will affect you immediately. We are increasing the total number of points available to a member by 100 points to a total of 600 points per day.

Advertising Discounts

The program we are implementing tonight will encourage advertisers to place more than one ad with us. We are discounting the 3rd ad placed on the Adgitize Ad Network to only $13 a month. The 4th ad will be discounted to $12 a month. There must be at least 10 days left on remaining ads to receive these discounts.

Now, advertisers should be happy to have reduced costs for placing extra ads with us. Advertiser/publisher members who do both will be happy because additional ads will now be rewarded with additional points. The first ad in the Adgitize Ad Network is still worth 100 points a day. The 2nd ad will be worth an additional 50 points per day. The 3rd ad will be worth an additional 25 points a day and the 4th ad will be worth another 25 points a day.

With increased ads from advertisers – publishers should see their net revenue rise. This will probably take two to six weeks to see the kind of bump to make a publisher excited. But, I think it will definitely happen.

Secondly, in about 2 weeks we will be implementing our Preferred Publisher program. This program will be a paid program for publishers to get more traffic to their blog at a smaller cost than a monthly ad in the Adgitize Ad Network.

Preferred Publishers List

This program will replace the “Blogs Not Clicked List.” Plus, the Preferred Publishers list will be available on the Adgitize Home page and will see some outside traffic. This will not be the branding or traffic opportunity that a normal ad will receive, but it will provide publishers with some Adgitize traffic.

There will be specific rules about placement of Adgitize Ad Groups to qualify for this program. Adgitize points (Up to 100 points a day) will be awarded to publishers involved in this program.

Third, toward the end of September we will rollout the Adgitize Marketplace. This will be an interesting mix for bloggers and non-bloggers to interact and buy and sell services to grow their blog and increase revenue. Points in the Adgitize System will be awarded for selling and buying in this program. More information to come in 6 weeks.

Points Go Up Starting Tonight

I think many of you will be excited about these changes and new products. Give us a chance to grow your blogs and help you earn more money. Don’t look for overnight surprises. Some members already running multiple ads in our system will see their points go up starting tonight.

Those on the Leaderboard that only have one ad in the system, don’t panic. It is great being at the top of the Leaderboard, but I think you will like even more when you see more affiliate income and more revenue each month.

Thank you all for being a part of Adgitize. I hope that you embrace these changes and I am expecting these changes to be a positive result for the Adgitize system. Let me know your feelings about these changes.
