Since the web server and ad servers appear to be stable and operating successfully, we are finishing the process of compensating advertisers for ads not showing on our network.

We have decided to add 7 days to the ad expiration dates to all active ads in the system between January 21st and February 3rd. This process will be complete by end of day Friday February 5th. If you have an active ad currently running you will see your ad expiration date be increased by 7 days.

If your ad stopped running during this time period and you chose not to renew it because you couldn’t or you had concerns about Adgitize being able to deliver our service then we will be doing the following.

We will restart your last ad and give you a one week ad for free. You will see an email from us stating that your ad has been renewed and the ad will begin running again on the Adgitize Ad Network for the next 7 days. If you have any questions or concerns don’t hesitate to send us an email through the contact us form.

We are picking up the cost for these additional days and the revenue will be entered into the system as normal ads. Adgitize is paying for the cost of these ads not the publishers.

We determined that ads did not run for 3 days as the site was totally down during this time. We decided to add the 7 days because of the problems many advertisers had renewing their ads. The ads were running but the member interface was spotty causing problems renewing ads and creating new ads.

Ideally, there never would have been a problem and we wouldn’t have to write this. But, the site did fail and we think that this solution is a fair solution to the advertisers in the system.

I want to personally thank all of you for your patience and professionalism during these crazy days and I personally want to apologize for the problems. Thank you for sticking with us and I wish you the best for 2010.

We have updated the member earnings report to reflect days that were missed because of server problems. We had two choices. We could just not award earnings for the days that ads weren’t being shown. Or, we could pick your highest earnings day from January 2nd to January 29th and give you the earnings from that day for the missing day.

We chose the latter. So, when you look at your report for January 23rd, 24th and 25th you will see earnings have been added for those missing days. Since you didn’t really score points for those days we have not updated the points report and for points earned for those days we have left them at zero.

The only critical value is the amount earned. I think in every case members have earned more than they potentially could have if everyone had participated for those days.

We will finish up the advertisers ad extensions on Thursday. Our plan is to extend all ads in process when the server failed.

It appears upon final analysis that the problem was caused by an update to AVG 9.0 an anti-virus product. The latest update had functionality that disrupted the proper operation of a web server.

I am very encouraged by what I am seeing. Please give Adgitize a quick test to see if areas you have had problems with are corrected.

We will let it run and encourage you to tell us if you see a problem. If this is fixed then we will extend ads as appropriate and go back and update missing day’s points and earnings. Again I am very sorry for the problem and hope that we are back on the right track. Thanks again for your patience during these major issues.

************************

As many of you know we are still experiencing server issues. We are upgrading some software and will be rebooting the server around 10 AM Chicago Time. So, you may experience some temporary login issues. After that we will see if the new software upgrade resolves the server problems. Thank you all for your patience during these trying times.

Thank you all for your patience. I really appreciate it.

I always say it takes an expert to really create a problem! We will reinstate the AdgiScore once we determine why it was using up so much memory.

I need to talk to my accountant tomorrow and then we will correct all missing points and earnings. We will have ads approved and running as soon as possible.

This is just a reminder for new publishers to Adgitize or to publishers that may not remember how to reject an ad. Early on at Adgitize we learned that not all publishers are interested in having all ads running on the network to show up on their blog.

Some ads may be from your competitors, ads that you don’t feel work with your blog color scheme, ads that are too sexy or provocative or ads you consider offensive. We have a way for you to ensure that these ads don’t run on your blog. Remember it is your blog not Adgitize’s. You decide on content and ad content.

So, if you don’t want an ad to show on your blog then follow these steps.

Click on the Manage Blogs button. Choose the Reject Ads Button which will take you to the reject ads page. Once there you can peruse all the images of ads currently running on your blog. If you find one you don’t want to show on your blog then click the check box.

Continue until you are satisfied that you have checked all that you don’t want to show then go to the top of the page and click on the “Reject Checked Ads” button. This will update the database and the checked blogs will not be shown on your blog in the Adgitize Ad Group.

You can go back to this page and see which ads you have rejected and reject more or un-reject ads if you want. As always you are in total control of what is on your blog.
